Ordering Information and Terms of Business

Placing An Order

It is essential that you measure carefully and accurately to ensure that the Furniture or Item you wish to purchase can gain access and will fit into the room or space you intend BEFORE placing your order, we also strongly recommend that you please telephone or email us to check availability before ordering goods online.

Buying On Line

To buy online, simply browse our selection of products and add any items you wish to purchase into your shopping basket, when you have finished shopping proceed to the till and complete your order.  We accept payment by all major credit and debit cards via Paypal, you do not need to have a Paypal account to use this facility.

Purchasing by Telephone

If you prefer, you may make a telephone order where you will be assured of our personal attention, you can then pay by either cheque or bank transfer, please call 01388 480480 between 8am and 8pm.

Purchasing by Email or Inquiry Form

You may send us an email to info@periodcottageinteriors.co.uk  or alternatively you can complete an inquiry form direct from our website, we aim to respond to you the same day.

Purchasing Direct From Us

You may collect your purchases from us if you prefer, but only by prior arrangement please.

Confirmation of Order

When confirmation of your order is received this indicates we have received your order, it does not indicate that a Contract exists between us, we will confirm acceptance of your order by email or fax.

Item Descriptions

All descriptions of goods are offered in good faith, to the best of our ability and knowledge, are of satisfactory quality and corresponds with the descriptions as displayed on the website.

Whilst we take every care to ensure the images displayed of our products are clear and true, sometimes various elements can alter the final image you may see on your screen and somethings such as colours may not be 100% accurate.

Vintage items have previously been used and therefore may show signs of wear commensurate with their age, we will always state in the description if there are any major flaws or damage to the item, if you prefer your goods to look "brand new" then vintage is probably not for you.

Payment

All prices quoted are in Pounds Sterling and do not include any postage or packing costs except where indicated that delivery is included in the price, notably larger pieces of furniture etc.

We accept personal cheques drawn in Pounds Sterling from a UK bank and bank transfer payments, we also accept payment by Paypal, you do not need your own Paypal account to pay with your credit or debit card.

Contract of Sale

No contract for the sale of goods shall arise until the customer has the paid the purchase price and any additional charges in full.

Delivery

You can be sure that all orders warrant our personal attention and will be packed by ourselves in recycled material where possible. Goods will be scheduled to be delivered when full payment has been received and cheques have cleared at the bank.

Important Information -  Where it is stated that delivery is included in the price of the item this applies to deliveries to England Only and where it is stated free delivery on orders over £75 this applies to delivery within mainland UK Only and does NOT include larger furniture items unless stated that the delivery is included, we can obtain a price for you for delivery on request.  We do not normally ship overseas due to the extra postage costs incurred, however, you may contact us prior to placing an order to obtain delivery costs for you.  If an order is submitted from overseas and is then subsquently cancelled due to postage costs, an administration charge may be applicable to cover the cost of telephone call(s) made ascertaining postage costs, abortive packing and general time spent processing the order, this is typically 15% of the cost of the goods. 

All goods will be required to be signed for on delivery. We cannot accept liability for non delivery and you agree to make any necessary arrangements to take delivery at the delivery time. Whilst we will make every reasonable effort to keep to the agreed estimated delivery date, we shall not be held liable for any losses, costs or expenses incurred either directly or indirectly should delivery fail to take place where delays are beyond our control. We currently deliver only to mainland UK.

We will inform you immediately if goods are expected to be delivered later than anticipated.

Returns and Refunds

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Regulations you may cancel your order and return goods within 7 working days of receipt provided that you have contacted us prior, in writing by either, letter, fax or e-mail.  Goods must be returned to Period Cottage Interiors within 14 days after the date of receiving the item, for a full refund or exchange, provided that:-

1. The goods are returned in the same condition they were sold, including all original packaging materials and unused.

2. The goods are a normal stock item and have not been specially ordered at the customers' request.

3. Delivery and collection charges are not refundable.

4. A proof of purchase is produced.

Faulty goods, where the fault is due to a manufacturing defect, will be exchanged or refunded where possible within 30 days of purchase, please note this cannot and does not apply to the vintage items which have been pre-owned.

We cannot accept liability for goods that go missing or are damaged in transit, hence we would suggest that you insure them when they are dispatched and obtain a proof of posting receipt.

Damaged goods must be reported to Period Cottage Interiors with in 24 hours of delivery of the goods. After this time we cannot accept responsibility for damage reported.
